The Oscars of the aviation industry went down in London recently as the Skytrax Awards named the best airline of the year as well as its top 100 list and a number of category winners.
Travellers from across the world voted in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners, with more than 21 million entries, and 350 airlines featured in the final results.
Award winners were announced at a gala ceremony held on 24 June 2024 at the iconic Fairmont Windsor Park, close to London Heathrow Airport.
Qatar took home the prized number-one airline ranking for the eighth time in the 25-year history of the Skytrax awards.
This is a proud moment for Qatar Airways,” Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said.
“I am honoured to share this award with my dedicated team. This award is a testimony to our relentless commitment to providing unparalleled service and innovation.
“We look forward to continuing to serve our customers with the highest level of excellence.”
“This is a remarkable achievement for Qatar Airways to win this World’s Best Airline title for 2024, the eighth time they have triumphed,” Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted said.
“We congratulate Qatar Airways on this success which should be a source of great pride and satisfaction for the airline management and staff.”
