2 nights: Sails at the Desert    D

This morning we depart the Gold Coast for our flight to Uluru via Sydney. On arrival, we check in to our hotel. Enjoy some free time before we transfer to our BBQ dinner locatrion, with Uluru as our backdrop. Enjoy sparkling wine on arrival and dine on a variety of meats and a selection of freshly prepared salads, followed by a tasty dessert. There’s even time for star gazing. Our guide will conduct a tour of the night sky, pointing out some of the visible constellations and will also explain some Aboriginal stories that relate to the stars.

B/D

We rise early today but it will be worth it as we experience the two major landmarks in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. We make our way to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the sunrise viewing area, to watch the amazing transformation of colours and life as the Red Centre awakens, while enjoying tea, coffee or hot chocolate. We’ll have an incredible view through stunning desert landscape as the sun rises over the Red Centre. Capture some amazing photos from this unique raised location, which allows you to view both Uluru and Kata Tjuta in all their natural glory. Afterwards, our coach travels around the base of Uluru with our Driver Guide who will provide details on its incredible history. Be fascinated by the Aboriginal stories that go back many thousands of years. Learn the significance of ancient Aboriginal rock art, about the area’s flora and fauna, and culture of its traditional owners, the Anangu. We take a short walk at the base of Uluru to Mutitjulu Waterhole. One of the few permanent water sources around Uluru, Mutitjulu Waterhole is a place where you can sit quietly and listen to the sounds of the beginning of time. The Kuniya walk is a living cultural landscape with stunning rock formations. This afternoon is yours to relax, or perhaps you would like to join an optional tour (see below). This evening, we transfer to a remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru. As the sun sets on the horizon to the music of a didgeridoo, enjoy gourmet canapes and chilled sparkling wine or beer, before a spectacular evening at the award-winning Sounds of Silence dinner and the Field of Flight. As darkness falls and the coloured lights of the 50,000 glass spheres gently come to life, we enjoy an exceptional three-course buffet menu infused with bush tucker flavours. As the night ignites with countless stars, settle back and listen as our resident star talker decode the southern night sky. Your host will provide insights to the art installation that awaits you, before you’re invited to immerse yourself in the Field of Light, its pathways glistening softly with rhythms of coloured light, beckoning you to explore.
