Today we explore the historic city of Vienna, where we will come across a plethora of unique café-houses and hear captivating stories about their famous patrons. But the real treasure lies in the diverse coffee offerings we can indulge in. The tour reaches its peak with a delightful coffee and cake experience at one of these charming cafés. This afternoon, we board our ship, A-ROSA DONNA and settle in, before we enjoy a concert at one of Vienna’s most beautiful concert halls (transfers included). One of Vienna’s most well-known classical music ensembles will provide a veritable musical firework, and virtuoso musicians, excellent opera singers and enchanting ballet soloists make for a truly unforgettable evening.

Our included excursion today takes us to Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a summer residence, later the year-round residence of Emperor Franz Joseph, Schönbrunn Palace is an integral part of Vienna’s history.

This morning we cruise the Danube, stopping in Esztergom for border control/customs. Once the capital of Hungary, Esztergom sits right on the bank of the Danube and can be admired directly from the river. The castle tower and mighty basilica form an amazing sight, rising up from the steep bank of the Danube. This afternoon, we arrive in Budapest. Enjoy an unobstructed view of Budapest most famous parliament building from the sun deck of our ship. This afternoon is free to explore Budapest, a city with 7 bridges in total, spanning the river between the neighbourhoods of Buda and Pest. At night, the “Queen of the Danube” shows her sparkling side. Already a feast for the eyes during the day, its sights, illuminated in the dark, are hard to beat in terms of beauty. Enjoy the trip along the Danube to Batthyány Square. When we stop opposite the Parliament building, the Danube and the Pest district lie as a glittering carpet at your feet.

Our included excursion today is an exclusive tour of Budapest’s culinary highlights. Discover the Budapest Market Hall, one of the largest in Europe and not to be missed! We take a tram along the banks of the Danube to a strudel house to try the typical strudel with meat and sauerkraut, and a walk to Cafe Gerbaud for sweet treats.

Wachau the section of the Danube Valley between Krems and Melk, an area with remarkably preserved medieval landscape. The town of Krems is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and no trip to the Wachau would be complete without a visit to Melk Abbey. Our included excursion begins in Dürnstein, whose main sight is the church with its blue and white baroque spire. The fortress, which towers over the city, was built in the middle of the 12th century and became the prison of King Richard I (Richard the Lionheart) about fifty years later. The fortress was widely destroyed in the 17th century and today, only the fascinating and romantic ruins remain. We will then continue along the Danube to one of Europe’s most magnificent baroque buildings and the highlight of this excursion: the Benedictine Abbey Melk. Situated on a 60-metre-tall ridge, it offers a fantastic view over the Danube and the dreamlike landscape of the Wachau.

Today we enjoy a relaxing excursion along the picturesque River Inn. On the traditional wooden boats, also known as “Plätten”, discover exciting stories and the special role of the River Inn. Afterwards, we continue towards the enchanting little town of Schärdingen. Known for its colourful baroque houses on the town square, take a stroll through the narrow streets, admire the magnificent architecture and discover cosy cafés and charming shops.

This morning we disembark our ship and our tour comes to an end.

Transfer to Munich to check in to our hotel, stopping enroute for lunch. Afternoon is at leisure, before dinner at the Augustiner Klosterwirt.

The day will commence with a guided walking tour through Munich charming old town, which includes the Munich Residence, the former royal palace of the Bavarian monarchs and other highlights such as the Church of her Old Lady “Frauenkirche” and the Marienplatz. After lunch we will depart for the famous “Wiesn”, the venue of the famous Oktoberfest. With free time to explore the world largest beer festivals’ many attractions, we’ll meet at a reserved table in one of the large beer tents, with meal and drinks voucher included. A once in a lifetime evening awaits you!
